Problem

  • Placement Misallocation – Too much budget was being pushed to Top of Search. Although it delivered clicks, returns were weak. Meanwhile, Rest of Search, which had stronger conversion rates, was underutilized.

  • Budget Inefficiency – High CPCs in the morning and afternoon drained the budget early, leaving no ads running in the evening when shoppers were still active.

Solution

Shopkeeper focused on placement optimization, dayparting, and continuous data driven iteration

First, we reallocated spend toward Rest of Search. Unlike the common practice of pouring money into Top of Search, Shopkeeper invested where the data showed stronger conversion rates and lower ACOS. This placement optimization allowed ads to run more efficiently and generate higher returns.

Second, we applied dayparting through schedule rules. Instead of shutting ads off during off-peak times, we reduced bids during those hours. This approach ensured ads remained visible 24/7, stretched the daily budget further, and captured profitable late-night and early-morning sales that had previously been missed.
